# Roleplay Doesn't Load

> What to do if your roleplay won't start

If a roleplay isn't loading, the most common cause is a microphone permissions issue. Exec needs microphone access to run a session.

<Note>
  Google Chrome is the recommended browser for AI Roleplays. [Download Chrome](https://www.google.com/chrome/)

## 1. Check Microphone Permissions

The first time you launch a roleplay, your browser will ask for microphone access. Click **Allow** when prompted.

If you accidentally clicked **Block**, you'll need to re-enable it manually:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Click the lock icon in the address bar">
    Do this while on the Exec site in Chrome.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Go to Site settings">
    Find the **Microphone** setting and change it to **Allow**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Refresh and retry">
    Refresh the page and relaunch the roleplay.
  </Step>
</Steps>

***

## 2. Try a Different Browser

If permissions are set correctly but the roleplay still won't load, try opening Exec in **Edge, Safari, or Firefox** to see if the issue is browser-specific.
